The moon peeps out while it is still daylight
He never complained,
Even when someone took his place….
It was his sky, his time to take the limelight
Still he waited, and he waited patiently
For the sun to go down
For the birds to fly home
For people to rest in their nests.

Undeterred by the sun,
It came, the soothing shining bright
Still not proud of its might….
The charming of all
So pretty as the night falls
Serene and calm,
It waited all day to show its worth
It shall shine all night
To prove his patience divine.
