Madhav, a 5th standard boy belonged to a mediocre family in Maharashtra. He lived with his father and elder sister, Sanjana. His mother expired last year in a road accident. Adjusting with the situations somehow life was moving on with Madhav’s father working in a factory and both kids going to school and managing studies with tuitions.
Madhav’s school teacher used to come home for his tuition since last 2 years and was now like a family member to them. He used to come home everyday after school to teach Madhav for an hour and usually spent sometime before going. He was kind of a fatherly figure for both the kids and their father trusted him with both the kids.
The teacher used to comfort the motherless children. At times by getting eatables for them or taking them out sometimes or just a warm hug. Madhav, was very comfortable with him until one day he experienced some discomfort when Suneel sir held his hand. He was trying to teach in an odd manner to make a diagram. The following days went worse when his teacher tried to make advances towards him by touching him in an inappropriate manner. Madhav could not do anything or raise his voice as he was threatened not to do so. The little child was very scared but could not open his mouth. His sister noticed this strange change in his behavior and asked him but Madhav denied and said everything was alright.
One day Sanjana returned early from her classes while Suneel sir was still there and found Madhav crying. On asking, the teacher very smartly said that he had some issues with his studies which he wanted to discuss with her. So, he called her inside the room and sent Madhav out.
Beginning to discuss about Madhav, he got up and closed the door. Madhav was watching from outside but could not understand anything till he heard his sister’s scream from inside. He rushed towards the door and started banging it. Thank God for the old construction that the door latch opened after a few bangs. Madhav saw Suneel Sir grabbing his sister as she was crying. He ran to take him off her but was badly pushed and fell down. Madhav’s eye went on the vase on the side table and very briskly he grabbed it and hit Suneel’s head with all his might. Suneel got shaken by this and Madhav’s sister Sanjana pushed him away. Another tight blow on the head and Suneel fainted on the bed.
Madhav and Sanjana were scared to death and did not know what to do. Sanjana, being the elder one got a hold on her and quickly took out a couple of dupattas from her almirah. They tied his hands n legs as tightly as they could, rushed out and locked the door from outside. Sanjana called her father immediately and also ran out to neighbors for help. Within sometime, Madhav’s father came home with the police. He found both his children in a devastated state crying for help.
The police took Suneel under arrest and asked the children the whole story. Sanjana narrated the entire case to the police and also mentioned about Madhav behaving strangely since few days. On asking gently, Madhav admitted that he was being physically harassed by his teacher and was threatened not to open his mouth. But today when he saw his sister in danger he could not hold himself and did whatever he could.
The police appreciated Madhav for his bravery and took Suneel for further interrogation.
