Good things don’t happen so easily or so fast, we need to wait for them to come to us. There are many instances when your patience wears off when you do not expect something to happen on which you have really worked hard. It is easier said than done but being patient is the most tough task.
In a world where everything is just a click away, we have lost the habit of waiting. We believe in instant things and when due to some fault that does not happen, we immediately have a rush in our mind to achieve it. You will be pleasantly surprised by how relaxation and peace of mind can affect the quality of your life. Patience is a virtue that can be cultivated and nurtured over time.
When you feel the anxiousness within you, everything seems to be going wrong and slow. You get more traffic and red lights when you are in a hurry. You have serious wardrobe malfunctions when you are late for a party. There are all kinds of network issues when you have to make that one urgent phone call and time never seems to pass when you are desperately waiting for an important text.
Have you ever tried to find out why are you in such a hurry? If you are stretching yourself too thin, try to reconsider your to-do list before you attempt to change your natural reaction to an overwhelming situation. Try to occupy yourself with a few tasks that you can handle so that you do not end up twiddling your fingers in eagerness.
When you feel angry, anxious, worried or unhappy, Impatience creeps in. You may not even realize the underlying cause of it. Here it is essential to pinpoint the triggers that influence us to lose our patience. We often feel that the situation is not in our control, but there is nothing happening around us or with us that we cannot control just with our own mental stability. And that, can only be self attained. You need to figure out the cause that triggers you and gradually try to curb it down by thinking logically or even emotionally. Focus on the consequences it shall impose on you.
Developing patience needs a change in your life. It is definitely not a one day process! You need to get a hold on yourself, relax, and not let the negative emotions overpower you. Just take a few deep breaths and try to clear your mind. If there is something you can do about a situation, figure out the way. If there is nothing you can do about it, just let it pass. Only if you allow it to come your way, you’ll have to go with it in the opposite direction.
Initially, you’ll find it difficult to let go off something. But, if you make a concerted effort to be more patient in a short-term situation then gradually you will develop the strength to remain patient in the most trying and enduring situations.
Remind yourself that things take time, and you must have experienced so many happy memories in life which you got only because you waited for them. Everything happens with time and if you get impatient too soon you are likely to give up on relationships, goals and other things that are important to you. Remember what matters to you and don’t let unnecessary things fuel you up and burn your energy and peace. If you feel you are too tied up, just give yourself a break, expect the unexpected, try to look at the positive behind the negative. Step back from what is pushing you down and you will eventually get what you want.
Run with the world at a rocket speed but keep yourself stagnant from within !!

You have described how life goes on in the real world. There is nothing like ‘happily ever after’. But being patient and calm is the key. Very well penned down!

Very well said Nishi. This is one person’s normal life these days.
thanks a ton jai 🙂
The tenet of life explained in so less words. You have churned the life as we know it and separated out its truth from the sea of meaninglessness like a butter floating in the unneeded left out buttermilk.
means a lot.. thankyou so much 🙂
